MINDFUL MOVEMENT PRACTICES

an integrated approach to moving

Welcome to a space that brings us back to our inherent movement capabilities and cultivates freedom, self understanding and joy through movement !

We are designed to move – in many, dynamic and exciting  ways!

We are at our very core, beings of locomotion designed to be effective, efficiently moving AND ‘IN’ our bodies’ as beings experiencing and exploring ourselves through this physical body in a physical world.

Often in today’s very sedentary focused world – most of us have struggled with or continue to battle with joint and muscular pain which seems to further inhibit us from being able to, or willing to move well and pain free, or prevents us from improving our inherent movement capabilities.

At Be.In.Movement I create a place that supports this movement journey, from pain and restriction towards greater freedom, re-claiming movement capability and strengthening for longevity!

"Through mindful movement practices we come ‘back to ourselves’, our innate essence - as a human being in a physical body, that can navigate the world around us with ease and JOY!"

TESTIMONIALS

What Others Have To Say
  • Dr Geoff Davies
Most sessions start with Toni asking about the “status” of one’s body and causes one to “interrogate” each part and see what needs attention. Then from her notes (specific to you) Toni will decide what movements and exercises to do. She will then continually monitor how one is doing and provide corrective feedback. Moreover Toni always seems to be able to introduce some nuance (often specific to your needs) so that one continuously progresses and learns. I have gained confidence and knowledge to control and manage my biomechanical problems on an ongoing basis. Also I feel I have acquired a very good friend.

I started working with/continue to work with Toni for both recovery and fitness purposes. Her sessions have helped me with post disc replacement strengthening, SI joint pain and bad posture due to desk work. Sessions with Toni are fulfilling as she asks you how your body is doing and focuses on the areas you need.  If everything is fine, she asks you what you feel like doing in the session.  She also provides exercises for you to do on your own to ensure there is sustained focus on the key areas you need

I was chronically incapacitated following lumbar surgery and Toni had come highly regarded in her field of expertise. I had prolapsing discs, unstable S.I. joints and muscle spasms, and as a result of her training I no longer have any back issues. Virtually all of them disappeared after the first 4 years of yoga and core strengthening. Currently we focus more on natural movement and the prevention of age-related muscle loss. The sessions with Toni are amazing. Even after 18 years Toni’s profound understanding of body mechanics ensures that each session is different and boredom/repetition never occurs.

I needed a professional Pilates instructress to aid in back & neck issues due to scoliosis of the spine. All my back & neck challenges are significantly improved since working with Toni due to building core strength that is vital for the entire body plus knowing how to move/exercise correctly and safely. Sessions are Always interesting! One-on-one sessions are imperative for my neck/back/entire body; Toni is able to pinpoint and work specifically on addressing any issues, at each session.

Toni has an absolutely beautiful way of being and sense of humour!  Her knowledge and ability to translate your needs into a physical self care programme are amazing. Toni really is one in a million - Over the years I have gone from personal trainer to personal trainer and Toni is the first person who has managed to keep me focussed and committed.  Toni's unique understanding of pilates, yoga and aerial yoga plus her instinctual understanding of what I needed has seen my body really transform over the years and most importantly she has kept me coming back for more.

I needed help with slipped discs C-5 C-6, chronic neck pain, overall movement and posture.Toni keeps the sessions very interesting. I have not been bored once in the 3 years I have seen her twice a week. She is very attuned to her clients, she teaches you to listen to and respect your body while also pushing it to be the best it can be. The sessions also help you work on strength without exacerbating injuries or triggering issues in problem areas.
